OUR GRADES /

At Mackenzie Ice Hockey we offer junior and senior memberships, and the following grades:


Junior Grades:

  • Junior Kiwi - This is our non-competitive learn to play grade aimed at beginners and players that are not taking part in the competitve grades.
  • Junior U12 - This is for all players that are under the age of 12 in the calendar year, and are partaking in the Southern Ice Hockey League rounds (competitive grades). It includes registration with IHNZ.
  • Junior U15 - This is for all players that are under the age of 15 in the calendar year, and are partaking in the Southern Ice Hockey League rounds (competitive grades). It includes registration with IHNZ.
  • Junior U18 - This is for all players that are under the age of 18 in the calendar year, and are partaking in the Southern Ice Hockey League rounds (competitive grades). It includes registration with IHNZ.
  • Juinor casual player - For U18 non-club member players, who wish join, train or play with us on a casual basis. 


Senior Grades:

  • Senior - This is for all players 18 and above, IHNZ membership is not included.  IHNZ membership can be purchased here.  
  • Senior Student - The same as senior but a discounted membership for full time students or apprentices. Proof needs to be provided.

  • Senior casual player - For U18 non-club member players, who wish join, train or play with us on a casual basis. 

  • Senior B - New grade for 2026, this is a non-competitive, relaxed pace game for beginner to intermediate players, veterans, returning players and non-competitive junior players. 


Senior Associate Member:

  • This membership is for any parent, volunteer or supporter that wishes to be a voting club member and an associate of IHNZ. Note IHNZ requires that volunteers partaking in national leagues must be associate members.
